Artist's Statement

.

In an urban world of geometric constructions I make work about the spaces in between. Exploring the potential of drawing to retain the fleeting and ungraspable, I try to make permanent the chaotic/ unpredictable forms that become absent through their state of flux. As much about what is not there as what is there, the work becomes an expression of loss, memory, desire, and human endeavour in the face of the smallest odds. Stilled and detached from their source, the forms in the work obtain an ambiguity and take on new meanings.
